I used this variator for approximately 11500 miles in my Honda Ruckus. For most of that time I used it with 5.5 gram Dr. Pulley slider weights which gave a good balance of acceleration and decent top speed (43 mph with the stock belt and rev limiter, only slightly faster than stock but with better acceleration and hill climbing ability). While the build quality and finish are great, the reason I had to stop using this pulley is because the brass bushing (bearing) wore out quite badly (probably before 10000 miles of use) and became sloppy on the crank shaft boss. This caused a loss in performance and noise. It's a shame the bushing doesn't have a better lifespan (like the stock variator) because there was virtually no belt wear to the aluminium pulley face when I took the variator off the bike. With the stock variator the belt wore a groove into the face before there was any noticeable wear to the bushing. I still use the drive face though.
No offense to Mike d, but the NR Magic backplate is extremely tough and well-made compared to other brands I've seen and owned. I have several thousand miles on my NR and it shows almost no wear. I would have to suspect that something was installed incorrectly. Sorry Mike, but I know several people who run this variator, and you're the only one to have a problem!View Detail
Back plate broke after 200 miles. Waste of money. get a polini from Amazon. This is the second item Iv received from here that didn't work and I'm just stuck with it. I will never shop here again. View Detail
The NRM Variator is top notch in quality build and in performance. I was topping out at 41mph and installed this with a Kitaco belt and instantly got a bump to 44mph after dialing in the rollers I was now topping out at 46mph on flats. There is still more CVT tuning to do but the potential is there I was able to do 49mph on a flat tucking all this with great acceleration thru the power band. The potential to get this into the 50mph is there, just need tuning with proper weights.View Detail
well crafted high quality part, that is a performer right out of the box. improved performance from take off to top speed ! highly recommend this product and webike for fast professional serviceView Detail
High quality, very well made product. Matching 95mm drive face is a big plus, helps make up for the price. Works great with the stock drive boss, and works best with a wide belt (18mm). Good overall performance, good response from takeoff all the way to top speed. In my opinion, this variator is worth the price, and I would recommend it.View Detail

I have used this variator/pulley extensively. It was my first aftermarket variator and on the whole it is an improvement over the stock unit. The thing it is best for is good acceleration, so for town riding or steep hills it is ideal. Due to the small diameter of the drive face, it tops out too quickly and top speed will likely be less than the stock variator gives you no matter what weights you use. I had this installed on a 2000 mild road trip and I found this very frustrating at times. Afterwards I got a Polini variator - you can see the two side by side and the size difference is very obvious. The Polini performed better for high speed but the KN has its place if acceleration is your main concern.View Detail
I used this mini filter on my Honda Ruckus when modifying the air intake. Although it's designed as a breather, I used it as a mini intake filter on the intake solenoid. It fits snugly over the plastic tube that you remove the hose from as you can see in my picture. Anywhere where there is a nipple type fitting, such as a T-piece that joins three hoses together, this filter can be fitted. Is is too small and the mesh too loose to be used as a direct carburetor intake, but as an auxiliary intake or breather filter it's perfect and cheap.View Detail
First off, the picture on the website is a little misleading. There are three different types of this exhaust, available in either black or stainless silver. This listing is for the stainless exhaust with the sport (curved) end. The "popper" and "bazooka" both have straight ends but one is cut at an angle like penne pasta. There should really be a separate image for each listing. This exhaust is built to a very high standard, amazing for the cost really. The welds are impeccable (my picture shows this), fit is great and it is packed with care so the stainless finish is perfect. Comes with useful extras like a fender brace and a silencer (more like an attenuator). Without the silencer and with a free flowing air intake and correct jetting if you have a carbureted engine, this exhaust gave me a noticable power increase, mainly in the mid-range. Pick up and take off was more effortless. Top speed increased very slighty. It is a loud exhaust, and the silencer helps a lot with that, but also makes any power increase almost unnoticeable. It still sounded and looked better than the stock exhaust though. Recommended in any three of the forms, if you don't mind the noise.View Detail
For the Honda Ruckus carbureted engine, you will find probably any main jet size you might need in this set for most tuning applications. The main jet size should typically be increased when opening up the air intake or replacing the stock exhaust to compensate for the increased airflow. I have used this kit extensively for over three years with no problems, and the price is very good for the quality. The original keihin jet seems to be higher quality but these Daytona jets do just fine. It even comes with a 72 (smaller than stock) which I found useful when riding at high altitude while on a road trip. They come in a generic plastic case which has taken a beating in my tool bag and has never broken. Just get yourself a 38 slow jet and you're good to go.View Detail
