*bikes up to CR / CRF-08 must be replaced with ZETA axle block (ZE93-5013) or stock L side block (42305-KRN-A30) for CRF09 or later. *Please make sure to check the race regulation when you use it in the race. *The weight loss value vs. stock is a comparison between the prototype and stock and may differ slightly from the product. *There may be changes in product specifications due to the manufacturer's reasons.
ZETA titanium axle shafts combine the three characteristics of light weight, high strength, and suppleness. By reviewing the shape and wrench size and making the shaft hollow, we succeeded in reducing the weight significantly without reducing tensile strength compared to the stock model. The stiffness / elasticity value of titanium, which is positioned between that of a chromoly shaft and a stock shaft, produces a moderate "bending" characteristic that softly transmits road surface information. Although advances in surface treatment have made stock shafts and chromoly shafts less susceptible to rust, Ti-6AL-4V will form a passive film on the surface, so it will not rust semi-permanently.
ZETA's Titanium Axle Shafts are Lightweight, Strong, and "Flexible"! ≪Lightweight≫ The specific gravity of Ti-6AL-4V is approx. 4.4. This is about 56% of the specific gravity of 7.8 of iron (SS400), carbon steel (S45C) or chromoly shaft (SCM435) used for stock axle shafts. If an axle shaft is manufactured with the same mass, 64 titanium can reduce the weight by approx. 44%. Lighter axle shafts reduce unsprung weight, making it easier to switch sides and enter a corner, and improving maneuverability and road-following performance. The reduction in unsprung weight also improves braking performance as well as suspension mobility.
≪High strength≫ The tensile strength of Ti-6AL-4V is 900-930 Mpa, comparable to chromoly (SCM435). The higher strength compared to the stock system allows the driver to feel more information from the road surface more directly. You can sense the unevenness of the road surface that could not be sensed before.
≪"Flexibility characteristic"≫ The Young's modulus of Ti-6AL-4V is 106 GPa, about half that of iron or chromoly. Young's modulus is a measure of rigidity or elasticity, and the higher the value, the higher the rigidity. In general, people tend to think that "high strength = high rigidity", and 64 titanium is naturally considered to have high rigidity, but in fact it has only half the rigidity of steel. Therefore, it is easily deformed, but there are two types of deformation: elastic deformation, which tries to return to the original state, and plastic deformation, which is permanent. 64 Titanium has a wide range of elastic deformation and "flexes". This flexing creates a suspension effect and softly transmits the road surface information that increases with the increase in strength.
